Wearing a FFP1 mask helps filter out 50% of airborne particles and are mainly used by the public to avoid pollutants in the air and to avoid others getting sick. These masks tend to be loose fitting and are not considered by the CDC to have a reliable level of respiratory protection. It's intended purpose is to avoid any kinds of fluids from entering the body of another person.
These masks are for a one time use and should be disposed of immediately after its use. Disposing of it does not mean grab the front of the mask and throw it away in the kitchen trash can, proper disposal is to take off the strings from behind the ear and throw it away in a closed trash bin. These masks should not be worn more than 7 hours if possible as they will sag and will be non effective towards foreign substances.
Wearing a N95 mask prevents 95% of particles 0.3 microns or larger. They are mainly used by medical, industrial and constructional workers who use them to prevent the inhalation of tiny particles such as dust, bacteria and smoke. It helps keep out airborne particles by having a tight fitting form around the nose and mouth.
N95 masks like other masks should be worn for a maximum of 8 hours and be replaced often. These masks are to be used in professional settings and not by the general public. They are the reason that people in the medical industry are able to care for people who have infectious and contagious diseases. Masks alongside washing your hands and not touching your face help prevent the spread of diseases.
The KN95 masks are virtually the same as the N95 the main difference is the standards in countries (KN95 in China, N95 in the USA)
The FFP1, N95, and KN95 masks are for protecting people and should not be played with. They help protect lives from dangerous situations such as nurses using them to block infectious diseases, and construction workers using them to not breathe dust/dirt. FFP1 masks should not be worn inside the comfort of your home or while driving, it is only necessary to wear them in public settings. #stopthespread #flattenthecurve
